If students score within this range or higher, the student will be given the following assessments: We look at all scores within the 90th confidence interval of 132. The Rockwood Gifted Program looks at cognitive abilities in any of the following areas: FullScale IQ, General Ability Index, or Non-Verbal Ability Index. All students that meet screening criteria will be given a Cognitive Abilities Assessment (IQ). Individualized Assessment for Elementary Students Students who meet the screening criteria (grades 1-5) will move on to individualized assessment. Referrals based on this exception are due by April 1st each year. There is one exception to the referral deadline: Students who were not present during semester one or during the spring screening process may be referred by a parent or teacher. ![]() ![]() Students that have not had a cognitive ability assessment (IQ) in the last two calendar years.Students that score at or above the 95th percentile on either the fall STAR Reading or Math and obtain a score at or above the 80th percentile in the other subject of the fall STAR Reading or Math assessment.Students being referred must meet the following criteria: Parent/Teacher Referral: Referral forms can be obtained by contacting your child’s school counselor or the CCL Identification Office. Referrals are due to the identification office by November 1st of each year. Nomination/Referral deadlines are strictly enforced*. The idea of referrals centers on bringing attention to students that may not be picked up using the universal screening methods highlighted above. If the student has been given an IQ assessment within the last two years, please click here to determine when they will be eligible for individualized assessment. If there has not been an IQ assessment within the last two calendar years, the student will move on to individualized assessment.
